Head Coach: Zeb Stewart
I have been involved in the sport of wrestling for nearly two decades as both a competitor and coach. In high school, I served as team captain and was a four-time state placer at Brookville High School. My senior year, I finished fourth at NHSCA Senior Nationals, which earned me a full athletic scholarship to wrestle at VMI. While there, I was a two-year starter and team captain.
After college, I enlisted in the U.S. Army, where I wrestled on the All-Army WCAP team and represented the Army at U.S. Nationals. Following my competitive career, I transitioned into coaching and have now been coaching for more than ten years. I’ve served as an assistant coach at both Brookville and Grassfield High Schools, and I spent four years as the head wrestling coach at Northside High School.
In addition to coaching, I am a certified secondary English teacher and have taught for the past four years. Teaching and coaching allow me to combine my passion for working with young people with my love for the sport of wrestling.
I am also a committed Christian, and I see wrestling as a platform to share my faith. In 2011, I spent a year in Mongolia on a missions trip, where I used sports as a way to share the gospel. My goal as a coach is not only to build strong wrestlers, but also to help develop young men and women of character, discipline, and faith.
